She is best known for her performance as Willie Scott, an American nightclub singer and performer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), directed by eventual husband Steven Spielberg. She was in Dreamscape (1984), Power (86), SpaceCamp (1986), The Black Rain(89), Love Affair, Love Affair (1994), Just Cause (1895), and The Love Letter (1999), she has continued to be a star. The portraits of her work have been shown in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Beverley Sue (nee Simon), a beauty therapist and travel agent, and Edwin Leon Nail, an airline employee of the airline. The couple relocated to St. Louis, Missouri at the age five, and graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School in 1972. Capshaw was awarded a degree at the University of Missouri in education. She was also a part of Alpha Delta Pi. She was a special education teacher at Southern Boone High School Ashland, Missouri and Rock Bridge High School Columbia, Missouri.
