Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host and also the proprietor and publisher of The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece then moved to England at age sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student who was elected to this position. She was an author for a conservative newspaper after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a few years after, she created an online platform for voice with a critique of current the political landscape. The celebrity she enjoyed helped her to convince several celebrities to contribute their opinion regarding current affairs, the political and culture. Arianna gained notoriety after she was elected as an independent in California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. In addition, she also spearheaded a Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient vehicles. Forbes listed her 12th in their list of the Top influential women in the media. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their Top 100 list in the year 2010. AOL Inc. appointed her President of their media company in 2011 following the purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are journalists and consultants in management. Although she was a close friend to her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother that formed her character. As a child she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. At the age of 16 the girl moved to England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. As a student she was a member of the Cambridge Union's college debating societies which she later became the first foreign and female president. In 1972, she earned a degree in Economics. After her graduation she became a columnist, critic and a host on TV. She also appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editorial assistance.
